What is all that Techno-Stuff next to Steve?

WMC Memphis provides one of the finest digital
broadcasting facilities in the world and we don't
mind bragging about it a little...

Just what is all that techno-stuff next to Steve...

1 Call monitor. Displays caller name, time on hold,
time on air, and a short subject line. Also allows
Board Operator to type comments to Steve during
the show.
2 Associated Press live news feed.
3 Digital audio system with touchscreen. This
is where Steve controls the dozens of sounds
that make up each InternetTalk program.
4 Electro-Voice Re-22 microphone. Simply the
best available for radio broadcasting.
5 Computer controlled system clock. This is the
master clock that everything (and everybody) in
the station is in synch with.
6 Master Console. This is the location for various
controls used by Steve during the show. From left;
microphone mute buttons, on-air and delay-on
indicators, various timers, and routing switches.
7 Phone Console. As many as 20 incoming lines can
controlled easily from this panel, allowing instant
phone conferencing on-air/off-air as required.
8 Mini ASCII keyboard. Similar to a laptop computer
keyboard. Used to control the Digital Audio System
and the live newsfeed.
9 Multi-line LCD telephone with speakerphone.
10 Steve Cox's brain. Encased in Sony headphones.
